Eligibility

Canada's Medicinal Marihuana Store clients must be authorized  by the Marihuana Medical Access Regulation (MMAR) card program. The MMAR card program is a Health Canada program designed to grant legal access and ability to possess dried marihuana for medical purposes.

According to Health Canada, legal access can be granted to those who are suffering from grave and debilitating illnesses.  Health Canada separates and defines these ailments accordingly:

Category 1:

1) Severe pain and/or persistent muscle spasms from Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injuries,  and spinal cord diseases
2) Severe pain , cachexia, anorexia, weight loss, and/or severe nausea from cancer and  HIV/AIDS
3) Severe pain from arthritis
4) Seizures from epilepsy
5) Applicants who suffer from a symptom treated within the context of providing compassionate end of life care

Category 2:

1) Debilitating symptoms of medical conditions with confirmed diagnosis by a specialist where conventional  treatments have not effectively relieved the symptoms.

Becoming  a Client with MedMe

If you already hold a current MMAR card
To become a client with MedMe, 2 pieces of correspondence are required:

2) A photocopy of your MMAR card

Simply send these two pieces of information to us, and we will create a client file and contact you.  Computer scans via email and regular post are welcome, however faxing the photocopied image of your card will not work.

Renewals

When MMAR cards are issued, they are valid for one year.  Due to the Health Canada's long wait time, which can be from 3 to 6 month, it is important to apply for the renewal of your authorization to possess 6 months prior to the expiration date on the card.

If you have an expired card OR a current card that is going to expire in the next 6 months and there have been no changes to your medical situation, physician information, or residential address, all that is required to renew is to download, print and complete:

2) Health Canada Form D

If you have an expired card OR a current card that is going to expire in the next 2-3 months and there have been changes to your medical situation, physician information, or residential address, then you will need to reapply for your card by completing Health Canada Forms A, B1 and/or B2, Form D, and Form E1, as well as the MedMe Purchasing Contract.
